Be My Valentine Giveaway | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

7 years ago today, I met a boy in a bar. I was hanging out with a group of friends who devised a plan to play match- makers. I was uninformed of their devious arrangement and could not have imagined how much my life changed that day. As our night of socializing at Five Seasons Brewery came to a close and we paid our tabs, I looked around to find my ride (& pretty much everyone else) had bailed on me. Having only lived in Atlanta for a few months, I found myself stranded in a strange bar with a strange guy. This Georgia Tech engineer, who I had been forced to sit by all night, was the only one left and he so graciously offered me a ride the 5 miles to my apartment. He seemed sweet and a little shy but we had the same friends so I thanked him for the ride and gave him my number… in a casual – hey let’s be friends kind of way! To my surprise, he already had my number stored in his phone. We had briefly met 4 months prior at a group gathering. He had asked around for the curly blonde’s number until someone gave it to him. He couldn’t remember my name and never worked up the nerve to give me a call. A few days after he dropped me off that night, he finally gave me a ring. We had our first date that Valentine’s Day – a tad cliché but I love cheesy romance stuff. He showed up in a suit with yellow tulips in hand and the rest is pretty much history! Almost 4 years ago he gave me a different ring and made me his wife. Brent and I will celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary this coming April and I am probably one of the luckiest ladies ever to have such a supporting and loving husband.

The funny thing about the whole story is up until I met Brent – I loathed Valentine’s Day. In my wild college days, me and the girls would find the coolest parties and toast to being single! Until Brent, I had never had a proper date on Valentine’s Day. Not to say I didn’t love Valentine’s Day gifts… I typically would just splurge and buy myself something!! Who say’s we can’t fall in love with ourselves- right? (Heck- I still do it today! I am my favorite gift giver) So this Valentine’s day – as I celebrate what is now one of my favorite holidays – I’m giving away some goodies to a special lady – whether single or attached! Things that I love and know you will too… A Champagne Rose Voluspa candle, chandelier earrings, a grey silk pashmina and a fun Coco Chanel inspired notepad! Because I too believe “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous”…. And they should be like me and be “ their own valentine” from time to time!! (enter below)
